Officers of the High Springs Community Development Corporation Lucie Regensdorf - President Lucie was a lawyer in South Florida who had always dreamed of becoming an innkeeper. She moved to High Springs from South Florida when she and her husband, Paul, bought the Grady House Bed & Breakfast in 2006. She immediately became involved in the community and the Main Street Program. Marilyn Vanover - Vice President Marilyn moved to High Springs in 2000 with many memories of having enjoyed Ginnie Springs and O'Leno State Park while in college at the University of Florida. She is the branch manager of the Alachua/High Springs office of Alarion Bank. She is involved in the Chamber of Commerce of both High Springs and Alachua, as well as the Alachua Business League and the Main Street program in High Springs. She loves the charm of High Springs and wants to make sure it is maintained. Ross Ambrose - Treasurer A resident of High Springs since 2002 Ross is self-employed working on and managing various film and video projects. In addition to many other duties, he volunteers with the Community Theater and serves on the City's Parks & Recreation Committee. Thomas E. Hewlett, Secretary Born in the City of Orange, Orange California and presently a 3 year resident of High Springs. Senior Research Scientist of Pasteuria Bioscience located in Alachua. Twenty years of research as a Senior Biologist at University of Florida with expertise in the chemical and biological management of plant parasitic nematodes on agronomic and vegetable crops. Served in the Peace Corps for five years as a teacher and supervisor of the Rural Education Center in Swaziland and Kenya. M.S. degree in Pest Management/Nematology from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Biology from the California State University Fullerton. Susie Clark Owner of the Wellness Spa in downtown High Springs located at 340 NW 1st Avenue, Ms. Clark is a successful business owner in High Springs with a passion for economic development, historic preservation and a love for her local community. Constance Heuss A resident of the area since 1992, has served on the High Springs Chamber Board, founding member of the High Springs Main Street Board, American Cancer Society Board, co-founded Alachua Business League, and chaired the Promotions Committee for Main Street's special events for the past 3 years, has created and organized many other area events to promote the community. Constance and her husband Michael own Cyber Studios, Inc. a web development and programming company specializing in niche market program applications, online payment systems and data security for municipal government agencies, corporate clients and small business. Dot Harvey A resident of High Springs for over 20 years, Ms. Harvey has been an active volunteer for Main Street since its inception. Assisting in the operation of the weekly Farmer's Market at James Paul Park as well as many annual events hosted by Main Street, Dot is always on the go. Melissa Wohlstein Melissa Wohlstein has been the Director of Development for the College of Health and Human Performance at the University of Florida since 2004. She came to UF from the University of Central Florida where she was the assistant director of annual giving. Wohlstein began her development career in 1996, at Heart of Florida United Way in Orlando, Fla. Wohlstein graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in 1995, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida in 2000. Sharon Cantor |
